A Love Poem for My Star Queen

I miss the woman I’ve never met.
I remember her.
Her soft hair her soft cheek
her soft everything.
Her eyes like dewdrops.

My star queen
my lover

All your equations
and all your engines
the world that exists only in your mind,
that is,
the earth as seen through your eyes.

Do you live in this world?
Do you miss me like I miss you?
Did you know I would cross the
great gulf of the dark to find you?

I see you with the stars in your bright hair.
I see you with the moon in your teeth.
Strange and beautiful and wise.

Fish with a hazelnut in its mouth
owl with its wings that cover the earth,
tell me tell me tell me—

How do I find my eternal star queen,
my queen of stars,
brighter than any earthly sun?
